Royal biographer ‘to tell the truth’ about Meghan Markle after signing six-figure book deal

Meghan Markle will be the subject of an unauthorized biography by journalist Tom Bowen, after he allegedly landed a six-figure lead to write the book.

The writer has confirmed that he has been researching the Duchess of Sussex for the past year and is speaking to anyone who knows Meghan and her husband Prince Harry.

He said The Express: “I’m writing it now. It’ll tell the truth when it comes out next year.”

Tom is a well-known biographer who recently published unauthorized life stories about Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson.

He is no stranger to the Royal Family, having written the book Rebel Prince about Prince Charles’ attempt to reclaim his public image after the death of Princess Diana.

Tom’s book announcement comes after Harry and Meghan signed their own deal, teaming up with Penguin Random House on a four-pound deal that would be worth £ 29million.

Commenting on the prince’s deal, Tom said: “The only way Harry can make money and justify the upfront, and the only thing American publishers will like is if he’s very critical of the Royal family.

“It will be damaging to them and it is a tragedy.”

Harry teamed up with famed ghost writer JR Moehringer for what Penguin Random House says is “the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses and life lessons that helped shape it.”

Harry’s memoir is expected to be published in late 2022, with Harry claiming it will be a “completely truthful firsthand account” of his own life.

Meghan is also believed to be in the process of writing her own wellness guide as part of the deal.

Meghan previously ran a popular lifestyle blog, The Tig, where she spoke openly about her life.

The Tig was then closed when Meghan joined the royal family, but since she and Harry moved to the United States, she has rekindled her passion for writing and has published a children’s book, The Bench.

Meanwhile, Finding Freedom – which plotted Harry and Meghan’s time as Royals – by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, will be reissued with updates on August 31.

The updated version of Finding Freedom will include details about the couple’s move to California and Prince Philip’s death in April.

Harry’s memoir should already be a future bestseller. Tom Bowen’s book on Meghan does not have a set due date.
