Pakistani journalist Marvi Sirmed describe Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan as a ‘coward’ while decoding his cryptic speech during his public engagement program ‘Aap Ka Wazir-e-Azam, Aap Kay Saath’.
Speaking on a TV show, the reporter said Khan has always played it safe in all areas, including cricket. “Imran Khan is a cowardly man. If you see his background including his cricket career. He’s not a brave man as a person…he always plays it safe,” she said on the TV show, citing examples from the Taliban regime.
Scolding the Pakistani Prime Minister for hedging his bets, Marvi Sirmed added that Imran Khan had never condemned the Taliban when they were killing our children, and when asked to do so, he replied: “Am I a fool, they would kill me too.”
“He (Imran Khan) did not condemn Hafiz Said…he said if Salman Taseer (former governor of Punjab province) was killed, why should I tell them anything (the Taliban)…c is a cowardly man. We therefore cannot expect him to stand alone before a powerful establishment,” the Pakistani journalist added citing the case of the wanted Pakistani terrorist who is the co-founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the head of the Jama’at-ud-da’wah.
“Throughout his speech, Khan looked very nervous and stressed. He felt left out and felt he was losing his grip (on the Pakistani government) and some power was trying to throw him out…but he (Khan) cannot say that directly,” said she said referring to her speech during the public interaction. program ‘Aap Ka Wazir-e-Azam, Aap Kay Saath’.
Reham Khan, Imran Khan’s ex-wife castigates him after his car was attacked
It may be recalled that earlier this month, Imran Khan’s ex-wife, Reham Khan, also criticized her former husband and Pakistani Prime Minister, saying that Pakistan had become a land of “cowards, thugs and greedy” during the reign of Imran Khan. The statement came on January 3, after Reham Khan took to Twitter to reveal her vehicle had been shot at and held at gunpoint as she returned from her nephew’s wedding. She had attacked her ex-husband and wondered if the incident was a projection of his ‘new Pakistan’ rhetoric.
In a follow-up tweet, she said the government of Pakistan should be held accountable for everything that happened, and she was ready to take a bullet for her homeland.
Reham Khan is an Anglo-Pakistani journalist. She was briefly married to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. She married him in January 2015 in a low-key ceremony and filed for divorce in October, just after ten months of marriage. In the autobiography she published in 2018, Reham made accusations of sexual harassment against Imran Khan.
This is not the first time Reham Khan has criticized Imran Khan. In the past, she has called him a “fake” and a “hypocrite who will do anything to gain power.” In 2019, she called Khan a closet fanatic and claimed he regularly made derogatory comments about Hindus.
