Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau sued Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tex., About the lawmaker’s recent criticism of the New York Times, suggesting that Cruz was “less upset” when President Trump attacked his family in the 2016 election.
The feud began on Monday when Cruz sharply berated The Times after leaking a transcript of an internal town hall led by editor-in-chief Dean Baquet, calling the paper “Liberal propaganda, for the Liberals.”

Cruz responded on Tuesday morning, accusing the former speechwriter of “attacking the motives” and ignoring “the substance”.

Favreau retaliated by telling Cruz: “You were less upset when Trump attacked your wife and your father.”
During the bitter GOP primary before the 2016 election, Trump shared a tweet that mocked Cruz’s wife, Heidi, and launched an unfounded conspiracy theory that Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, was involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
