Prince Harry: commentators discuss Diana in upcoming memoir
Princess Diana is the “third wheel” of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage, a royal expert has claimed, and her “ghost” looms over the couple’s life and defines their worldview.
For Harry and Meghan, “all roads lead to Diana” and “every click and whirr of the camera” reminds them of their “terrible fate,” the biographer said.
Andrew Morton, author of the explosive biography Diana: In Her Own Words, said: âToday, for Harry, and increasingly for his wife, all roads lead to Diana.
The author claims that the life of the late Princess of Wales and her tragic death shaped Harry’s relationships with the rest of his family as well as with the general public.

Write in Sunday mailMr Morton added: ‘As the Sussexes embarked on their own journey together through royal life, not a day went by without a reference, memory or decision that somehow concerned the Harry’s late mother. Diana was the third wheel of their marriage.
Mr Morton, who has also written a biography of the Duchess of Sussex, claims friends of Meghan’s family have said she ‘wants to be Princess Diana 2.0’ and, aged 16, was deeply moved by watching Diana’s funeral with tears “running” down her cheeks.
According to childhood friend Suzy Ardakani, Meghan would watch old videos of Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles in 1981 and the two girls – inspired by Diana’s humanitarian missions – were picking up clothes and toys for less privileged children.

Suzy’s mother Sonia even gave Meghan a copy of Diana’s biography and it is said to have been on her shelves for several years.
When the couple announced their engagement on November 27, 2017, Harry paid tribute to his mother.
Meghan’s ring featured small diamonds from Diana’s jewelry collection so she was there to ‘join us on this crazy journey’.
Although she was initially seen as a bridge between the past and the future of the monarchy, Meghan “realized, as Diana had done, that all was not as it seemed in this mirror world, âsays Morton.
Harry and Meghan left their royal duties in March 2020 and moved to California with their son Archie.
They welcomed their daughter Lilibet Diana this summer and named her in honor of the Queen and Princess of Wales.
